Room 4

I am very excited to be working alongside my lovely Year 3 and 4 students again this year.

Our programme is structured around Literacy and Numeracy with an overarching ‘Big Idea’ each term. We also have a specific values focus each term that students are expected to practice.

We have high expectations in our class and everybody is encouraged to do their personal best.

In our class, we use portfolios. Each term the portfolio file is filled with snapshots of work completed over the term; this includes certain regular assessments. The portfolio, together with our SeeSaw page, will keep you informed of your child’s progress.
An introductory letter will go home in Week 1 which will explain the expectation regarding homework in our class. A weekly learning sheet is also distributed each Friday. With regular spelling testing each Thursday,
There will be a few special ‘happenings’ in our class, and these will be communicated to you at the end of each term, with our most special happening in Term 4 – school camp.

This year we are going to Waitomo for three days and two nights.
