Kia ora,

I’m Georgia aka Miss S and I have the privilege of teaching year 6, 7 and 8 this year. In Room 3, we have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy. My approach integrates other learning areas, using digital technology extensively to enhance learning. Our classroom is a space where children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop a love for inquiry, and build confidence needed for lifelong learning.

We regularly use Google Classroom which serves as a central hub for all class related activities. Children can access their work, find links to online learning sites, access resources and announcements in one organised space.

I am not a firm believer in homework, instead the children have a ‘weekly checklist’ with several literacy, numeracy and other learning area tasks they need to complete during class. If the tasks are not completed by Friday, it becomes homework to be completed in their own time.
