Dear whanau,

To those who don’t know me, my name is Angela Attewell and I will be your child’s teacher in Room 2 for 2024! I am back to full time teaching next year and really looking forward to what I am sure will be a great year!

The following is a little overview on what to expect in Room 2:

● Every Monday students will have a Homework sheet glued into their Homework book. This sheet will have any important information for the week, the week’s sharing topic, their spelling words, a reading log and basic facts practice. Reading must be done every night with the reading log completed, but the spelling words and basic facts can be completed any time throughout the week.

● Every week there will be a different Sharing topic. Students have set sharing days and it is important that they are prepared on their sharing day with what they will share to the class.

● We use the Seesaw app to post updates and share work and photos from the class. You can also use Seesaw
to communicate with me.

● We have a classroom teddy called Gorgeous George. To start off with, every day we will choose someone who has been following the Classroom Expectations, to take home Gorgeous George for the night. This is a huge treat for the kids so if your child takes home Gorgeous George, please make a big deal about it! They will also take home a book which they can write what they got up to and even put some photos in there if you wish. Once everyone has had a turn taking him home at least once, we will change it to someone taking him home every weekend.

I hope this gives you an idea of what Room 2 will look like next year. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and I am looking forward to seeing you all in 2023!
