Kids for Kids Concert
I was very proud of the ten students who participated in the World Vision concert with Suzanne Prentice. Your behaviour was wonderful and your singing was magic. Well done!
Our students artwork was displayed at the War Memorial Hall, Whakatane and they travelled into Whakatane for workshops including African drumming and dance, Maori design, mask drama and expressive writing. Josh Moore played guitar and the Kids for Kids choir performed.
The school is positively buzzing! We have had a fantastic group of talented people working at our school this week and our students are painting, acting, dancing, constructing, beading and more!

who competed with a calf,
lamb, goat or pet and the indoor exhibition. It was a good day despite the weather.

This is a celebration of our school year and all that our pupils have achieved. We have a special Christmas visitor coming this evening for our students, preschoolers and other children.
Room 2 Aquatic Camp - Year 7/8 Students from Room 2 went on camp at Lake Rotoma from Tuesday 7 – Friday 10 February.
They had a great time kayaking, air rifle shooting, building bivouacs, orienteering and more.
Children from Thornton, Edgecumbe and Otakiri Schools were chosen to create a mural for the toliet block at Thornton Beach Domain with Art teacher Lee Wright.
Room 3 created their very own scarecrows from straw, wood, old clothes and imagination....
An awesome show to learn about our native birds, with fabulous dancing and acrobatics to tell the story.
